Ambrado™ Introduces Software Upgradable Hardware CODEC System at NAB 2009

DALLAS (April 14, 2009) – Ambrado, Inc., a global provider of high-definition (HD) media processing solutions, today announced the introduction of the new HC Series HDTV video processing systems at NAB 2009 (April 20-23, 2009) in their sponsor suite at Las Vegas Hilton. Ambrado is an official sponsor of the NAB Content Distribution Forum.

The HC Series Systems includes the HCE1604 HDTV Encoder and the HCD1604 HDTV Decoder which are portable battery-powered devices weighing 7.5 lbs. (3.4 kg) each that can be easily installed in a variety of mobile vehicles from vans to helicopters.

Combined they provide a low-latency delivery solution for Satellite News Gathering (SNG), Electronic News Gathering (ENG), and Field Pick-up Units (FPU).

Supporting resolutions up to 1080i, the HCE1604 accepts HD-SDI input and delivers MPEG-2 (Long-GOP and I-Frame) in an MPEG-2 Transport Stream. The resulting high-quality output to DVB-ASI and simultaneously Ethernet allows delivery over satellite and IP networks. The HCD1604 Decoder decodes to HD-SDI and SD-SDI for a complete end-to-end digital delivery solution.
