The HCE1604 encodes the input video signal in MPEG-2 or H.264 video and the audio signal as MPEG-1 Layer II or AAC audio. The input audio can also be passed through as uncompressed digital audio, Dolby Digital, or Dolby E audio. The HCE1604 multiplexes and packetizes the resultant streams into an MPEG-2 transport stream for DVB-ASI output and simultaeous streaming over an IP network. Portability with Reliability |

The system is housed in a light-weight and compact chassis providing portability for live mobile news gathering and video transport in HD and SD. The HCE1604 can be operated using AC adaptor or battery power and features low power consumption to ensure long battery life in the field. Optimized for fast transmission and play-out of HD and SD video streams, two HCE1604 encoders can be rack mounted side-by-side and used for station-to-station transmission or live-to-air applications. |

The HCE1604 provides two switch-able HD-SDI inputs and accepts up to four AES3 audio channel inputs. For output, the HCE1604 provides two ASI connectors for dual transmission of a single encoded channel and a gigabit ethernet port for simultaeous delivery over an IP network. |

One additional gigabit ethernet port is provided for the HCE1604 management interfaces. The system is completely configurable and controllable via the front panel LCD. The HCE1604 can also be remotely managed using SNMP and CLI interfaces. The HCD1604 receives and decodes MPEG-2 and H.264 video and MPEG-1 Layer II and AAC audio. The system supports pass-through audio as uncompressed, Dolby Digital, and Dolby E. The HCd1604 accepts MPEG-2 transport streams from DVB-ASI or UDP/RTP streamed over an IP network. Like the HCE1604, the decoder system is housed in a light-weight and compact chassis providing portability receiving and decoding MPEG-2 and H.264 transmissions.
